Through the CUGR ACTD program, a CBRN payload has been developed and tested on a single UGV platform. However, there is now a desire to make this payload more generally usable on other UGV platforms. Applied Perception is developing a standardized electro-mechanical and software interface to the CUGR CBRN payload and integrating and testing this payload on 2 different JAUS-compliant UGVs.
For this program, we are taking the native data output of the CBRN sensors and transforming it into a Joint Architecture for Unmanned Systems (JAUS)-compliant message set. We are creating JAUS messages that support both data output from the sensors as well as any needed command data to the sensors to turn them on or off, configure them appropriately, or control them properly. This work will allow the developed CBRN payload to be software-interfaced to any up-to-date JAUS-compliant UGV.
