RUCK

The Remote Utility Conversion Kit (RUCK) is a complete set of components that will retrofit a Kawasaki Mule vehicle into a remotely controlled vehicle via secured wireless communications. Users of this kit are looking for a platform that can carry heavy loads for mission periods of several hours. The bulk of the retrofit hardware is located in the cargo bed, which leave the front and back seats available for people and/or additional hardware.

Kawasaki Mule specifications:

  • Top speed of 25 mph
  • Load capacity of 1330 lbs
  • Towing capacity of 1200 lbs
  • Four-wheel drive
  • Gas powered
  • Front strut and rear leaf spring suspension
  • Ground clearance of 7.1 in

  • Field installable in 3-4 hours using standard hand tools
  • Actuated steering, throttle, brake, transmission, and hitch control
  • Communications range up to 5km (line of sight and non-line of sight)
  • Three cameras with one having pan/tilt capabilities
  • Single switch control between manual and remote modes of operation
  • JAUS-compliant communication
  • Operator control unit included
  • Rollover prevention sensors and software
  • Head light control
  • Three emergency stop switches
  • Assembly and operator manuals
